Enclos Restaurant is a masterful collaboration between interior designer Jiun Ho and its owner, Stone Edge Farm Estate Vineyards & Winery. Set within a restored 1870 Victorian building in the heart of downtown Sonoma, Enclos reimagines a historic landmark as a contemporary fine-dining destination. Ho’s design weaves together Japanese minimalism, Nordic calm, and Sonoma’s natural textures—creating an immersive experience where heritage and modernity coexist in harmony. Every detail is purposeful: charred Shou Sugi Ban wood, aromatic western cedar, hand-carved furnishings, and locally sourced materials speak to a deep connection to place, culture, and craft.
The renovation was guided by a philosophy of preservation through innovation. Original architectural features—stained glass, crown moldings, and the Victorian façade—were not erased but elevated, integrated seamlessly with contemporary design elements. Each piece within the space was custom designed, from dining tables crafted from continuous wood slabs to wool artworks sourced from nearby farms. Anchoring it all is a dramatic open wood-burning hearth that serves as both the culinary and emotional center of the restaurant, reinforcing the elemental relationship between land, food, and memory.
More than a restaurant, Enclos is a living archive—a story told through architecture, materiality, and design. It embodies Stone Edge Farm’s sustainability ethos, with locally reclaimed materials, energy-efficient upgrades, and a seamless integration into the farm’s zero-carbon microgrid. Awarded Two Michelin Stars and a Michelin Green Star, Enclos stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design to honor history, elevate experience, and shape the future of hospitality.
